tYp Yogi of the Month - September 2013 - Stephanie Magnien Rockwell

Q:  Where are you from?

A:  I've lived in LA since I was 19 and grew up in Cypress, CA

 

Q:  Why did you start practicing yoga?  How often do you practice each week?

A:  I started practicing yoga to help stay balanced both body and mind.  I went back to school a couple of years ago and that combined with working full time really had me stressed out.  Practicing yoga helps me stay centered.  I practice about twice a week.

 

Q:  Have you noticed any changes in your life since you started regularly practicing yoga?

A:  I am much stronger mentally and physically. 

 

Q:  What do you like most about attending classes at tYp?

A:  I like the sense of community. I appreciate that all of instructors I've practiced with know who I am and I like seeing my fellow students grow along side me. 

 

Q:  What are your goals for your yoga practice?

A:  My goal for each practice is to challenge myself without ego- to push myself but to know my limitations. 

 

Q:  What is your favorite yoga pose and why?

A:  Happy Baby- a fun, relaxing pose to stretch my hips which are always tight. 

 

Q:  What is something you'd like to reveal that people don't know about you?

A:  I had my 30th bday party at an indoor trampoline park and it was awesome!
